Our study trip to Prague - the capital city of the Czech Republic

- took place from June 29th to July 3rd. On the first morning, our journey officially began with our departure at 9:00 am by bus, accompanied by our teachers. The drive turned out to be anything but boring!
During the ride, we passed the time playing various board and card games together. There were also a few funny moments along the way, such as people sleeping with funny masks or a chaotic toilet break where some ended up using the wrong bathroom - much to the confusion of onlookers! Finally, at around 2:00 pm, we arrived at our accommodation.
Right from the start, the weather greeted us with incredible warmth. As we arrived in Prague, we immediately got a taste of the city's unique charm, stunning architecture, and the openness of its people. Our very first day was already packed with exciting impressions as we explored famous sights like the Jewish Quarter, the Astronomical Clock, and Wenceslas Square.
Going into the week, our expectations were high: we hoped to see as many historic sights as possible - from the grand castle to unique spots like the Grotta Cave - enjoy good food, and spend quality time together outside of a school environment. Looking back, the trip exceeded all expectations, setting the perfect mood for an unforgettable week filled with great experiences! During this lovely week in Prague, our teachers provided us with a pre-decided main program, where some activities were planned for the whole grade, and some chosen by us individually. On Monday, we started off strong with a walking tour through the old town. As aforementioned, this served as a great introduction to the city, and also gave us a perfect starting point for the free time we had afterwards.
On Tuesday, we had our first individually chosen activities at 10am. Some of the people in our grade got to visit a truly sublime jellyfish aquarium, while others had the opportunity to see Prague from above at the Petrin Tower, along with a fun mirror maze. In the afternoon, our whole grade met up once more to visit the Holésovice market, where we were able to see some local dishes and businesses. After that, we had the whole evening to spend for ourselves.
On Wednesday, we were mostly responsible for ourselves. We first got to individually decide on a Prague Museum that we would visit some time during noon. Many of us visited the National Museum, where we got a glimpse into Prague‘s history, customs and culture. After that, some of us spent time with Golf and Games, while others spent their free time visiting more sights. At the end of the day, all of us got together on a boat tour, where we spent an ethereal evening on Prague‘s waters. 
Thursday, our last proper day in Prague, started with a tour through the remarkably beautiful and gothic Prague castle, where we were guided through the historic events that once took place. The rest of the afternoon some of us spent freely, whereas a few people got to experience a very unusual cinematic experience: The sunset cinema, placed on a rooftop, where they watched “Me before you“.
Sadly, our only program on Friday was to return home. These (mostly) mandatory visits turned out to be a real blessing: They gave us fun moments to look back on, built up our class spirit, and gave us knowledge and insight we would have never acquired otherwise. Besides the wonderful main program, we were also granted a lot of free time. After finishing the mandatory activities, we would usually split off into groups. Some stayed at the hotel to cool off after a long trip, while others couldn’t wait to seek another thrill by visiting more sights, and exploring further parts of the city. During the trip, most of us tried a variety of restaurants, café’s and snack shops. One highlight was the “trdelník”, also called a “chimney cake”: an exquisite, luscious dessert that comes with all kinds of toppings.
Thursday evening was another highlight, because our curfew was set later than usual. This allowed us to enjoy and seize the day to the maximum. Some went to a club, others spent it wandering through the beautifully dim lit city. 
Although our trip back home on Friday felt solemn, and saying goodbye to such a breathtaking city left all of us with a deep sense of forlornness, it more importantly left us with irreplaceable memories.
